TerraMetrics to Showcase TruEarth® Global Imagery and TerraBlocks™ Terrain-rendering Solution at Training and Simulation Expo
Colorado-based TerraMetrics, Inc., a leading provider of satellite imagery
databases, 3-D terrain datasets, and software tools for visual simulation
and training markets, announced today that it will exhibit at the
Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation and Education Conference (I/ITSEC)
at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla., December 4–7,
I/ITSEC encourages cooperation between the armed services, industry,
academia and other government agencies in pursuit of improved training and
education programs. Initiated in 1966 as the Naval Training Device
Center/Industry Conference, the conference has evolved and expanded
through increased participation by the Army, Air Force, Marine Corps,
Coast Guard and industry.

components of 3D terrain rendering. This cutting-edge approach stores
large terrain and imagery datasets while maintaining accuracy and
resolution. The 3D terrain-rendering engine provides precise,
on-the-sphere, smoothly continuous rendering at multiple levels of detail
and is suitable for wireless platforms. According to Baxes, TruEarth
15-meter global imagery is an ideal global terrain/imagery base layer for
the TerraBlocks system.
